1. After more than 25 years in the hospitality business Bridget Baker set up Bridget Baker Consulting in January 2006.

      Prior to this Bridget worked in hotel operations for around 13 years in the UK and France. In 1990 she joined City accountancy firm PKF (Pannell Kerr Forster)  in their specialist hotel & leisure consultancy team. During this time she undertook consultancy projects throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa for a range of clients from large hotel chains, independent hoteliers and funding institutions.

      Bridget was the in-house specialist on the conference & meetings market and undertook many assignments for specialist operators in this sector. Bridget continues to be a leading consultant and commentator in this field.

      Bridget then worked for a national surveying firm for two years and during this time undertook a wide range of assignments in the leisure sector including visitor attractions, sports venues and multi-component projects as well as a bespoke survey on the trading performance of the UK residential conference centre market. She undertook a wide range of planning related work including hotel needs assessments, planning appeals for green belt sites and expert witness.

      For four years Bridget was an elected member of the Meetings Industry Association. She is a fellow of HOSPA (formerly British Association of Hospitality Accountants)  and a founder member of the London based Hotel Property Network. Bridget speaks French.
